diet for young rottie

hi guys, im wondering what food is best to be feeding sash on.
Indie is on nature diet, as she wont touch dry food. But to feed sash on nature diet will cost me £22 a week!

Whats the best dry food to feed a large breed puppy?

ive looked at burns, but they dont do large breed specific food, is that a problem?
i want something holistic, but not sure what suits best.

so those of u large breed owners, what do you feed?

this is something i would like to know as well. Bronson is still on what the breeder was feeding him as i didnt want to change his diet then find something else and change it again, but i just dont know what is best for him. I darent say what he is on at the moment as i have read alot of the debates!! At the moment though he is still on complete puppy food as he is 13 wks old.

Hi all,

Send "Steve and Abe" a private message, he'll hopefully see it, he's had Abe (a rottie) since he was a pup, he's six now, he's had all sorts of things that he's had to sort out for Abe, he'll probably add his "pennyworth" to this topic, after all, it's nice to get a lot of ideas.

Jenny - e-mail Burns and ask them which food you should feed.
Tell them sex/age/breed/weather neutered or not. They are very good, and give lots of advice.
They told me to feed Teagan on a normal adult food, not large breed food.

hi Jenny,

I would be inclined to NOT feed a large breed puppy food as it can make them grow to quickly and do damage to the joints/bones etc.

Burns is one of the best dry complete foods on the market IMHO, the only complaint I've heard about burns is that some dogs lose weight/cannot gain weight on it. Call Burn's helpline, they are very good and helped/talked with me when I thought about trying Murphy on it - unfortunately, it didn't agree with Murphy

the link to the burns website is:

http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/

CSJ is another recognised food (I have Murphy on CSJ Champ and you can see his testomonial on the website), if you want to speak to someone at CSJ , ask for Ceri, shes really helpful and will send oyu samples of the foods too. I've attached the link for you

Another good dry complete food is Autarky - CSJ stock this too.

Steph

it says for working breeds but that isn't strictly true - they have rocket fuel food for dogs that really do work, ie collies (I think the food is higher in protein).

Call them and speak to the nutritionists, they are the best people to advise you.
