should you use a hair dryer on your dog after a bath?

I have a volume drier - which some of them hate, but mostly I use towels!

i use a hair dryer. want a proper dog one though.

i have to because if i leave daphni to dry on her own the coat would go wavy or crinkly and we need it straight

mine is petrified of the hairdryer so just towel dry as much as possible and then run her around outside for a bit. She then falls asleep in front of the radiator.

I towel dry and then he curls up in his bed with a towel on. I have dried him with a dryer but it isn't really necessary when his coat is short.

I think most dogs dont enjoy the hairdryer experience but I did used to have a standard poodle who just loved it! He used to preen and preen and stick his head in the airflow! Always looked stunning as you can imagine. My 10 month old border collie has just started getting over her fear of the hairdryer. We had her as a rescue at 6 months and I dont think she'd ever come across one before and freaked the first time it came out and was turned on, poor thing. A lot of positive attention has won her over with her confidence now and she'll happily sit next to me while doing my own hair!

I very rarely bath mine and would only do so if the weather was warm enough for them to dry off outside after a rub down with some towels. If they roll in something smelly (which isn't very often thank goodness) I would just wash the smelly bit and towel dry. My BCs aren't heavy coated so it's not really a problem.

When one of them had hydrotherapy for a few weeks, the physio would dry him off with a doggy hair dryer.
