Have to wash her feet belly and snout as soon as we get home - to get the salt off her. When it was still operating to extract salt (stopped sometime in the 1980s,) they used donkeys and they put thick socks on them to stop the salt rotting their feet. You can still find old socks everywhere down there, half buried in the sand. I used to be totally mystified by this until someone told me the story.
