Blood In Urine

Hi

I have just noticed that my Jack Russell has got blood in her urine. I will book her into the vets this week.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what it could be. I thought a water infection, but then i spoke to my friend and she said it could be the kidneys packing up.

As you can well imagine, i thought oh no, however she is 13 this July.

I am hoping it is something simple fingers crossed.

many thanks

Don't want to second guess the vet, but it sounds like a urine infection which will need anti-biotics. Good luck at the vets with her.

Could be cystitis, you really need to get her seen quickly as urine infections can worsen quickly and are often very painful. Good luck.

Yep I have to agree with everyone on the urine infection I would try for a sample off her before you go to the vet so they have something to test when you get there.

Sending hugs for her from here.....
Hope she feel's better soon.

I suggest taking her to the vet... If he takes a urine sample, try and see for a blood sample, just in case... With the blood sample the vet can find out if there is anything wrong with the kidneys, because that is always a possibility. Better safe than sorry, right?

Take care.

Blood in urine can also be a sign of stress, but definitely a matter for vet examination!

Hope she's okay.
