Fred, thank you for your thoughtfulness! That was very sweet of you

I have had some funny replies from some e-mail friends, I bet some of these work too, normally the more ridiculous, the more likely...`at the first tingle, rub a finger behind the ear on the same side`,makes it disappear immediately, `rub a gold ring over the sore`! `dab a warm teabag over the sore 3 times a day`!! Another one was making a paste out of rhubarb & ginger & leaving it on overnight ,think of your pillow!, think of your OH`s face when you get into bed,

I think I`ll just stick with the vitamin C, got some today & I have some aloe tincture, that is supposed to be good too...

Thanks for your replies, Lucy

SB, you do make me laugh and Mini, what can one say but agree with such a wonderful remedy and if enough gin is applied (internally) I'm pretty sure you'll forget you have a cold sore altogether...

I have heard of that one!
I get cold sores a lot, horrible things.
Zovirax only works if I use it 'before' the coldsore comes out. But thats hard to know, as I don't get the 'tingle'. I normally just wake up with a massive sore lip!

OK I have tried this many a times and has worked me every time.

The first tingle that you feel.
Go and get an Ice Block, hold the ice on the area, for at least 5 mins.
It is hard to hold there coz being so cold, but if you persist, NO Cold Sore...

Good Luck

Ash...

Hi ya,

Tea Tree Oil or cream. I swear by it and use it all the time, not just for cold sores, but fantastic on spots, scratches, sore itchy skin, insect bites, and much more. Give it a try.
