I used to be quite partial to the SNP, until they slung out all their left-wingers and became a gang of Tories in kilts. The only advantage of them having any power just now is that, hopefully, they'll make such a total c***-up that nobody will ever vote for them again. As for Salmond, he has one perfect quality for a politician - he's slimy.

And, incidentally, some of us can handle air weapons responsibly, and it may be one of the few outdoor activities in which some of us can still participate. Consider also that a rat may outwit a Border Collie, but it won't outwit 19 grains of lead.

You may take it that I don't like the man, either, nor his stupid party.

That's why Holyrood and the Welsh Assembly will always be a farce.

Great ideas but in reality they have very little power to do anything.

You may be able to handle an air rifle responsibly Snorri, but what if the 19 grains of lead ricochette and hit someone, the probs with air guns are the young lads getting them and firing at anything that moves.

PS: agree with you on politicians.

If we had independence the ban would have been enacted and it would've stopped idiots firing these weapons at any target they choose to select.
I agree with you Dennis and Boobah , they should both be banned xxdk

Hi Suze, we waited for over 300 years to get our own parly in Scotland, we got it eventually but it's got no teeth , Westminster STILL makes our rules.

I was taught to handle guns in my school Cadet Force (.303 rifles and Brens). My shots do not usually ricochet, because the pellets are usually embedded in whatever I fired them at (I attained "Marksman" level in the school Cadet Force, too).
High-powered air rifles already require a FAC, I could accept a case for them all to require one, but a ban - I don't think it would be fair to the responsible people who always lose when we try to legislate for lunatics.
