itchy skin - can a change of diet help?
my old westie had suddenley developed very itchy skin, the vet said it was probably food intolerence and wanted to do allergy test, but i heard that diet can contol this, has anyone found a good food that can help with skin allergies.

Westies do seem predisposed to skin problems ..There are many things dogs can be allergic particularly some grains like wheat and various additives in dog food.
You could try an elimination diet, that is feeding a minimal diet and gradually adding one food at a time to see the effect.
I have found Burns food to be good for dogs with skin problems, what do you feed at the moment?

Naturediet is also very good but that is a complete wet food as opposed to the dry ones.

Do you have a pets at home near you because all the ones I mentioned are available there. Sometimes local petshops might sell it or be able to get it for you. I think a lot of small petshops sell James Wellbeloved dried food because it is very popular.

If you go to Burns website (look on Google) and ask for samples they will send you some to try
