4month old staff x lab urine problem

Hi, I have just noticed that my dog has got a slimy jelly like substance coming out of her when she takes a wee. It is not every time she goes and I have come to the conclusion that she may have a water infection, can anyone give some advice. Also I will be calling our vet in the morning

No she's 4 months old and not had a season, surely she's too young isn't she plus I have not noticed any blood in her urine and thanks for replying x

Sorry Leanne I missed the age . It could be puppy vaginitis then.
If the discharge is coming from the vagina this is the most likely cause..

..it is not uncommon and it is usually not a problem but I would try to get a urine sample if you can to take to the vet which should show any bacteria in the vagina and urinary tract.

She doesn't have any discharge coming from her, it's just in her wee when I get it up as she is peeing quite a lot

...see my last post it sounds like puppy vaginitis but could also be a urinary tract infection .
To get a sample I take a piece of tinfoil and form it into a shallow little container with the handle then pop it under the dog when it is peeing , not easy, you don't need much though.
Don't worry if you can't mange it.

With vaginitis there isn't always a discharge until the puppy pees when straining pushes it out. Other times there can be strings of mucous coming from the vagina.
