Any advice on Horners Syndrome

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has dealt with Horners Syndrome and how they treated it. What was the cause what was the outcome and so on.

Bear is a male 18 month old German Shepherd who got out during a bad wind storm the night before Easter. He was hit buy a truck. He suffered getting pretty banged up he had no broken bones or internal injuries but some nerve damage to the right side of his face and how he came to be diagnosed with Horners Syndrome. He currently has been being treated with Neopolydex ointment3.5 MG this is the start of his second round. Any advice or shared experiance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bears Mommy

I can sympathise with what your going through re Horners Syndrome
Having fairly recently gone through it with one of our dogs
Our boy fell 10 feet when a bank collapsed sustaining a head trauma
Usual tests carried out confirmed no broken bones bleed to the brain just very badly shocked battered and bruised
It was apparent that his left eye wasn't right and Horners Syndrome was diagnosed apparently common after a head injury
Our boy was given eye drops sorry can't remember the name off hand
This Syndrome can correct its self of its own accord but can take several months (according to our vet )
It's only just now our boys eye is back to normal
Don't know if it was coincidence or not but he also had an ear hematoma 2ops steroid ,abs, anti inflammatory drugs don't know whether this speeded up the healing process or not but but his eye greatly improved
It was 12/14 weeks before we had the all clear and signed off from our vet
All I can add is this does take time there's no quick fix (as much as you'd like one )
Don't know if this will be of much help
All the very best in bears recovery xxxxxx
