Springer

How can I get my springer to listen to me when doing agility, he is fantastic in training but as soon as we do the shows his nose goes down and he runs around the ring sniffing, nothing I do or say will stop him until I take his collar and stop him that way, then we are eliminated.
Just dont know what to do with him.

Big question, I had the same sort of problem with George and my friend had a mad springer with the same tendancy.

With Willow the dog began to concentrate everywhere after she did lots of HTM training with her and lots of hand feeding of her main meals in return for doing as she was asked.

Do you train complete courses or bits---what do you reward with, how often do you reward?

We do bits at our club and full courses at a friends house, each time he is usually really good, it all goes wrong at the shows, its really frustrating as I dont know how to solve it especially when he doesnt do it anywhere else.
