1 week since lightning strike and still no phone lines or Internet!

Really starting to get fed up now. Last Monday we had a really nasty storm which took out the local exchange (lightning struck the wires behind my house, the resulting thunder scared the life out of me!). Since then I've had no Internet and no phones neither has my work place.

It's really starting to get on my nerves I am currently using my iPad by tethering it to my phone and using my 3G allowance, not that I actually get 3G here just the little circle thing but it's better than nothing.

I wouldn't mind if it wasn't raining and I could take the dogs out for long evenings walks but it's hammering it down and really thundery grr.

No real point to this, just mindless ranting!

Jen I hope normal services are resumed shortly, don't forget to check, you may be entitled to a refund for loss of service.

They keep saying they are sending out a specialist team but haven't actually given any indication of when they might have it fixed.

I think I'm entitled to money back after 5 working days but I can't research it as I have no phones and Internet! Oh the irony...

Tethering is something I do when I go camping, I wouldn't want my iPad wandering off and harassing other campers

On a sensible note, it's really very easy. All that happens is my phone produces a wifi signal using my contracted 3G allowance and I can connect any wifi enabled device to it.

Well done TW.

Well the saga continues and I have now been without Internet access or phone lines for 2 and half weeks.

To top it all off I now have no water supply thanks to two burst water mains.

At this rate I'm expecting the power supply to go off any minute!

Well they had been claiming that the farmer wouldn't allow them on the land to fix the cable until he had harvested but my manager knows the farmer and knows this to be untrue. Then today it turns out they had been speaking to the wrong farmer anyway and actually needed to talk to two different ones and that the BT bods can't seem to read a map

On the plus side the water has come back on
