Training classes

I contacted our local dog training class yesterday to find out about taking Lola. They are just breaking up for Christmas but the next available class is in the middle of February about 8 weeks. Do you think this is too long to wait as Lola is 13 wks? Or do you think that just over 20 wks old is an ideal time?

Thanks
Paul

Hello its better late than never. Just really work at getting her used to people/places now. Go on trains/buses/outside schools/shops/riding stables/sunday footie matches in the park everywhere you can think of the more.

If it's any consolation, my rescued staffie who's 7/8 years old has only just passed his 'Puppy Grade'

I'd definately say better late than never

I'm going to try and see if I can find a few other places in the surrounding area tomorrow and see if I can start any classes sooner the mid Feb. I've been taking her on the bus and trying to meet as many new people/dogs as we can. I even take here with me when I quickly pop to the corner shop a few minutes away but this takes us ages as we get stop by virtually every passer by wanting to know about Lola

I took her out earlier and decided we should walk back past the train station. She really did herself proud tonight; as we went past the station a group of about 15-20 teenagers were leaving the station that had obviously had a drink or dozen. (just jealous The whole time she walked by my side even though I could tell she was dying to dive into the group of them and have cuddles/kisses. What impressed me most was there were a couple of girls in the group who started screaming hysterically because there was a dog. Lola still stayed calm and kept walking not pulling on her lead or trying to jump up. Once a few members of the group stated to enquire if they could stroke her I said it was fine and Lola got all the cuddles she could wish for

I've managed to find a training class which is really close by, they have places starting at the end of January which is slighty better than the other place. I can't wait until we can start
