i was prepared for an endoscopy without sedation. i couldn;t go through with it once on the table. ( felt stupid but they reassured me a lot of people are the same ) and ended up going back couple of weeks later and was sedated . came round after an hour and apart from a scratchy throat. was fine, i opted to get a lift. all the best x

Thanks for all your good wishes and thoughts everyone in the morning thread. I feel rather proud of myself now as I was so scared about this endoscopy this morning, and after the nurse had given me a chat before the procedure about trying to stay calm and not lash out as many people do if it gets too much for them, I was even more scared.
However I had it all done and I didn't even have any sedation, just the spray on the back of the throat. Apart from a bit of wretching, it was not too bad, although can't say I would want it again.
I had some little polyps growing in my stomach which he took 4 biopsies of and I see my GP for those results in two weeks time, but i have no sore throat or any side effects from it so am now back to normal.

Well done Bev I didn't say before but I noticed those who opted for sedation were in a lot worse state than I was . Dare I say they were all men .
