High blood pressure and pregnancy

Have any of you ever experienced high bp in early pregnancy? I'm now 16 wks and every time i get mine checked it goes higher and higher, and now im being kept in for a day with a bp monitor on and a meeting with a specialist

Does it go away? Is it treatable? Im worried im going to end up signed off work now.

They keep just making soothing noises without really saying much!

Sorry I can't help as I never suffered with high bp. Hope you are okay though xx You need to be assertive and start asking lots of questions.

Midwives are even worse, today one was taking blood and basically said it's because im scared of needles, i replied actually im not remotely bothered by them, so then she came out with patients get worried when they see people in white coats......i was like erm i WEAR a bloody white lab coat at work every day

aww poor you that isnt good
I have no idea, not that I have or plan to ever get preggers but my dr last time I was there commented cos my blood pressure is really low if I got preggers that would make it drop and I would most likely pass out a lot
I did tell her I had no intention of getting infected anyways

Oh be warned I had no intentions of infection either! In fact I was immunised against these types of infections!

See that's what i thot too - that bp went down in early preg not up. It's very weird i kind of feel like im constantly about to have some kind of panic attack

I had high blood pressure but not overly high. They just kept making me go back more frequently than normal. That went on throughout my pregnancy but I have always struggled having my blood pressure.

Hope everything is ok.

Loads of onions and garlic!

That'll bring it down---has the knock on effect of getting rid of medical professionals pretty quickly as well

Sorry to hear that, not had high bp, quite the reverse, in fact it was low even when, had I fallen asleep on the beach, Greenpeace would have tried to save me!

When I give blood I always get asked if I feel dizzy or faint when I get up in the morning or have a shower.

Hope you are ok
