When mine had it years ago it took a few weeks to get rid of the cough and I think it took over a week for them to look any better. It convinced me to have them immunised ! ( not that I am saying yours aren't of course !)

its worth bearing in mind also that since there are so many variants of kennel cough about that the KC nasal spray does not protect against all- so even though your dog may have had the spray it can still catch KC

Just thought Id point that out to anyone who may not have been aware

Since seeing the vet i have contemplated having her vaccinated ,but like you say Lel they can still catch a different strain so I am still undecided.

Well I can only say personally since we started vacinating about 15 years ago we have not had a case of kennel cough before when they were unvacinated we had it 3 times with various dogs.

Luna had kennel cough a month or so back, she coughed for 3 days, but that was it. She didnt get an antiimflammatory.

Hope Ebony gets better soon

It depends on the dog i think. When my rottie had it he only had it for about a week, but when my yorkie had it she had it really bad and it took weeks to go.

Gus had the spray when he was little because the vet advised it as we would be in contact with lots of dogs at shows and ringcraft etc- but he still caught a very mild form of it- more a yukky snotty nose without the cough but the vet said it was a variant of KC
maybe he only received the mild form cos hed had the spray i dont know but we dont bother now anyway

Storm had this as a puppy. Hers lasted for about 10 days, and she'd had it before I got her.

The first lot of antibiotics she had didn't do anything for her, she ended up on another lot, as well as an anti-asthmatic drug. She also had tixyliks.
