Advice for a new Lab, corgi mix

I'm bringing home a stray black lab, corgi mix tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me.
Some general information:
1. I'm a first time dog owner.
2. The vet believes that the dog is less than 1 year old.

Thanks for any input!

What sort of advice are you looking for? If you look under "Dog Forum" at the top [under the banner] you will find various sections, and you can ask for specific advice in the appropriate section.

In the meantime

When we bring home a rescue first thing we do is ignore them, just let them settle try not to look at them. If they are nervous this may need to continue for a couple of days. Our late Duncan stayed in the fireplace for 3 days just coming out to eat a little, on the third day he came out and sat on my husbands lap and we never looked back, he loved us both. I think he saw Mollie and the late Rosie getting a fuss and never a raised word so decided we must be OK and he would take a chance.

This has worked for all our dogs.
