Sparring terriers in the ring

I was discussing this with a friend the other day who thought it was 'barbaric' and akin to dog fighting. I was quite taken aback by this response as I think it shows the terrier in profile, standing its ground without exploding (shouldn't be within striking distance though!)

I actually dont like it at all. Airedales RIGHT in each others faces. Many Stafford owners do it too much, I have yet to see a dog corrected or even dissuaded from cracking off at another. Its rude and very off putting for exhibitors in close proximity in other breeds.

Oh no, I don't like it when they are nose to nose, thats just asking for trouble. Totally agree on that. But when they are turned facing one another, just close enough to 'clock' one another, they throw themselves into a completely different profile.

they show Boxers like that in some countries , it gives them a whole different look.


You never see any spats though,

The welsh do the same in fact we have to seperate Ross from my friends dog or they get so giddy you can't stack them lol
