I think it's time I changed my vet.

I'm a bit distrusting of my vet. I really object to the size of the bills sometimes. You see I'm a nurse, as I'm sure you can guess from my user name, I can check the price of alot of things and I hate the huge markup that I'm charged by the vet. Then there's the fact that I feel the vet does not give any creedence to my knowledge or experience.
Kitty, has a sore paw. She's not a cat, she's an American Cocker. I think, or rather I know it's an abcess, it's very very painful, it's got her pad and pastern swollen, and a little pus has been seen. The vet thinks it's a wart and she wants to surgically remove it. I asked for anti biotics first and thankfully she agreed. So we'll wait and see

Dawn,

I have the same problem. I like my vet and I trust him but I'm sure the bill goes up because Norm's insured.

I paid nearly £400 to have my last bitch spayed because she had pyometria. I must be mad

Our vet wanted to take Star in and do all sorts of tests because they detected a heart murmur.

We decided to take another route and see the cardiologist at the breed show.

The charge: £7.50
No further testing needed as the vet over reacted. If we had gone the vet route it would have cost hundreds on her insurance.

For checking his liver, kidneys, lungs and anything else they could think to x-ray, prod and poke

Ah, our vet puts it on his little computer. I'm sure that's the first thing he checks - before he even looks at the dog.

I would tell them the premiums were too high because of the amount of claims, so the policy was cancelled
