Another poo thread lol

Sorry, we all seem to have poo fixations here!

I'm slightly worried about Archie, he has had runny poos since yesterday afternoon. They seem to be getting slightly firmer but they are still softer and lighter in colour than normal. What shall I do? Everything else is ok, he's eating, drinking and playing normally...

I'm thinking it might have something to do with what he stole from the bathroom bin yesterday - Don't want to say what it was though in case you all puke

If he doesn't get better how long should I leave it before calling the vet? (I'm slightly reluctant to ring them too much now cos they probably think I'm a hypochondiac! (sp?) I'm always in there even if it's just to say a quick hello!)

Both my dogs occasionally get the runs for a few days at a time.
Teagan has it at the moment, and wind!
It usually firms up after a day or so.

If Teagan hasn't done much exercise - she seems to have runny poo's!
She also eats everything she finds!

If he has eaten something he should not have it could be the cause of it

erm tuti, it probably depends wot he's eaten! if its somethin that cud be toxic, id ring the vets and see what they think.

if its not, jus keep an eye, dogs get the runs for all sorts of things. u cud try adding some bio yoghurt to his dinner to firm up his poop

I don't think it could be toxic Jen, in fact it was quite organic

He had some youghurt the day before yesterday anyway, he gets it every few days cos he loves it!

I'll keep an eye on it though, thanks for the reassurance

I don't know why but that makes me
I thought I had a good idea as to what it could have been, but 'organic'? now I have no idea...lol

And your right about the fixation...lol..I have never talked about poop so much until I had my dogs and now I am always anylising it...lol...If the dogs squat in the forest completly out the way where you can leave it in the wilderness, if I know they have had an upset tummy I go and check it. I worry about there toilet habits more then I ever would my own or anyone human!...I think with me, I think, firm poop, must be healthy! No need to worry...anything else, then I am wondering, why!?

LOL Myschievous.... trust me u don't wanna know!

Well Archie woke me up twice last night (something he hasn't done for weeks now) and both times did more runny poos I'm making sure he gets plenty of water though, if it carries on tomorrow I'll ring the vets

Hope Archie is okay, hes a beautiful, cute little dog

I'm intrigued too to what he has eaten (ok just plain nosey then! LOL)

Perhaps we could have a competition guessing what Archie has eaten

Well Archie's really poorly now

He just had another little poo which was completely liquid, picked at his breakfast and then lay down. I had a look at his bum and it looks quite sore, so I put a bit of nappy rash cream on it.

He's drinking a bit of cold camomile tea with honey (thanks mini!) cos i don't want him to get dehydrated. Hopefully the camomile will soothe his tummy a bit. Poor baby he looks really sad.

Foxy.... feel free to guess but you WILL be sick when you find out!
