I've been to the dogs home and they do fantastic work for stray and abandoned dogs. I very rarely donate to other charities, usually just our greyhound one, but felt the need to today. Ł250,000 has already been raised, overnight and hoping they get all the help they need.

Imagine the trauma experienced by some of the surviving dogs they must have been terrified and may now associate the smell of smoke with extreme fear .

Been speaking to a friend who lives locally and she says a local building firm has already offered to rebuild for them, free. Lots of anger and bad feeling, and if the lowlife doesn't get his just desserts in court then it will surely be dished out to him. Death toll is (she says) now 63, those poor poor dogs, they didn't have a home or family , all they had was a place at the home, and they weren't even safe there

I cried when I heard the news this morning, those poor dogs and it is devastating for the staff that work so hard to rehabiltate them.
