Don't know. Probably, the vet said it was a hospital in Liverpool, so I would guess so.

Oh poor little dog, that is just such sad news. Try to stay strong for him. Things might not be as gloomy as they seem right now as the specialist may be able to give you a better prognosis. Hopefully you and Loki will have many more happy times together with meds and your care.

Feeling slightly more optimistic now. There is no cure for kidney failure, but it can be managed. I'm quite relieved that I looked into diets for renal diseases and what we are feeding him now isn't far off the mark. Most sites recommend raw meat and veg with no whole grains. We will have to avoid organ meats and heart now though. Shame, they are his favourites. Omega 3 supplements can help, apparently as well as vitamin E supplements. Can't do anything else until we know the reason why he is ill.
