A bit over defensive!

Was walking down the walkway round the back of my new house today, myself, my son, my mum and her partner, and there is a wee iron picnic table and chairs in the shape of a lady bird out there and my son wanted to show my mum it.

So we were walking down and an elderly woman was coming towards us on the path with what looked like a lab cross, never really got a good look tbh as we started to walk away from them before we got close as the table and chairs were over on the grass off the main pathway.

The woman saw us walking onto the grass and must have thought we were avoiding her and her dog and shouts "it's ok he's fine and he's on a lead!", to which I answered, "you're ok, we're not going that way, we're going over here" and pointed at the table, and she shouted back in an irate tone "he's got a bloody muzzle on aswell what more are you wanting????"

My mum shouted back, "We are going this way on purpose, is that ok???"

"Oh right" she said and sped off on her wee scooter. No apology or anything. Bloody batty woman. As if you could mistake me for a dog hater, haha!

Sounds like she's had a bad experience(s) before hon. She was probably too embarrassed to apolgise too. Sometimes being in the wrong is earth shattering for us oldies

It seems a lot of us are bumping into odd people this week.

I would say shes prob defensive as people have given her a hard time in the past,, so she assumes everyone is avoiding her,, if you see her again I would make a point of explaining you have no problem with her dog, even if its aggressive and muzzeld, just say shes clearly in contorl of the situation so whats to fret about, It may even make the lady feel a bit better and boost her ego a bit x
