Back to work tomorrow!

Well I've been off for a weeks annual leave and it's been bliss!

But, I have to go back tomorrow and I'm dreading it. My last two shifts before my holiday were so horrid I ended up in tears in the IV room.

My job? I'm a Nurse!

Yep, things are so bad now members of staff are regularly in tears, I was the second to breakdown that day and it was only 09.30AM. And I certainly wasn't the last.

Reason?

Sheer lack of staff, equipment and understanding from some patients.

So please, the next time you're in hospital and you're not getting exactly what you want the minute you demand it, just remember that we are doing our best with the limited resources we have. Don't take it out on us, try writing a letter to the CEO of the hospital, because THEY are the ones causing this situation!

They know we're under staffed and over worked on my ward, but do they do anything? No, because, as they put it, you'll cope!??

Yeah we'll cope, til we all have a heart attack leaving no one to care for the patients anyway!

It's always tough going back after some time off but I don't envy you having that job.
