I bought three large ones about a year ago - they are now taking over the house. I keep giving the babies to the charity shop every time they have a plant sale so they are probably slowly but surely taking over the town.

I think they're triffids in disguise.

I grow my Aloes just outside the house where I am right now. In fact, I've just planted up some chilli seed too. That's one of the positives about living in a tropical country. However, I sincerely miss shops such as Lidl - there's nothing like that here in the Philippines, and all the western foods, what few there is available, are hugely expensive.

Tad confused as your location says US but you speak of being in the Phillipines?

Here in Cyprus I thought we had the BIGGEST Aloe plants in the world ... until I visited the Cayman Islands - WOW you should see them in the Caribbean!

Hello Robert! California is the only place in the US I've ever visited - some 20 odd yrs ago. Redondo beach area. Loved it and we had the opportunity to relocate there with my OH's job. But my boys were grown and my girl was a baby and I just couldn't bring her up somewhere SO different to what her brothers had been used to.

Plus - all those beauty parlours and nail parlours and the fact hardly anyone COOKED despite having huge kitchens was a bit alien to me then! I just felt I'd be BORED living there.

I don't need to buy any as they do produce babies and last well. I sell the offspring for charity!
