ipad/ipad mini?

Been thinking about getting an iPad mini outright or an iPad.already got a 3 dongle usb I plug into laptop.if I was to get an iPad mini or iPad could I use a data connection by taking the SIM out of my 3 usb dongle instead of buying a separate data plan.

I have both an iPad and a mini.

With the iPad it has 3g and I did have a data plan, but don't use it anymore.

I find my mini much handier for out and about. There are so many places that have free wifi now, that I didn't bother getting a 3g one. If I can't find wifi I just tether it to my iPhone, HTH?

I don't really want to buy a separate data plan if I do decide to get one as I have a laptop already.I was just thinking an iPad/iPad mini or tablet would be convient for recording agility runs if a family member could learn to operate.

surely for the price you could buy a vvv good camcorder and upload it to your computer that would be a better option?

Already got a camcorder and bridge camera but iPad and tablets seem all the rage these days.

I've got an iPad, but just bought a Sony DSC-HX20V camera, much easier to take pictures and HD video with than an iPad (and better quality) and was just £239 probably the best camera I've had - and I've had a few over the years.
