iPhone/iPad/iTunes

Sorry if this comes over as convoluted but please bear with me.

The scenario is

iPhone A screen smashed. Cant get beyond 1st screen as slider doesnt work. iPhone B is possible replacement but has 'work stuff' on it. That will need to be backed up & cleared before iPhone A is also backed up & downloaded to iPhone B.

Next problem is no laptop for backups but have my iPad & another 'work' iPad (iTunes, iCloud etc).

Is it feasible to use iPad(s) to do all this or should I just bite the bullet and get the screen repaired somewhere but am not keen to take it or send it away without being backed up!

Help!

You should be able to use iCloud to back up your phones

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

I would also try going into to Apple to see how much a new screen would cost..

Thanks Azz.

I've heard Apple screens can be @ £100 to replace from Apple but have seen various other companies lots cheaper but invalidates warranty.

My concern about backing up is I backup via iCloud then the other phone is backed up (same household) will it overwrite it?

(You'll find it hard to believe I was a systems analyst in my former life & now am a techno dunce).

Hiya. It shouldn't overwrite it really, as long as you make sure each iPhone has a different 'name' and make sure your sync settings don't get them syncing everything on there- other than that you should be able to back the stuff up on the cloud, depending how much there is. You could stick it all on iTunes then backup onto a disc or pen drive as well just to be on the safe side?
