I have problems with GA's, my body shuts down. Happens every time no matter how light the GA. Last time i had a day procedure, it was only a ERCP- tube down to investigate gall bladder etc & apparently i had everyone in absolute panic. I had told them i didn't want any memories of the procedure so mustv'e got small GA - didn't ask them what they did. For day procedure they kept me in for couple days!

So altho i had option of GA yesterday thought it prudent not to. Came home, fed mum her lunch, tended to animals & then sat down - absolutely shattered

Ive not much swelling today, face/mouth sore but hey got my teeth cleaned this morning - hurrah. Felt so dirty not washing them last night. Had to be up bright and early as the district nurse was coming to dress mum's leg

Dentist phoned this morning to check how i was, thought that was nice. I don't think they believed I could be all right

I could have had the wisdom tooth taken out by specialist dentist but at the end of the day that would have meant two different extractions and my own dentist said he could do it (I asked him to) as the other two would be out of the way and he would be able to see what he was doing. Its a private practice anyway, NHS dentists here are like gold dust

I have not really decided yet what to do for the best as i have no back teeth on the bottom right, think i will let it heal first and then consider the options

I just feel achy tonight but so so glad its over

Thanks for your kind comments everyone

My mouth where i got those teeth out is stooning like crazy this morning and my jaw is aching & i look like i have done a few rounds with Mike Tyson

I may have to resort to the strong painkillers if this goes on. Typically it starts up at the weekend when the dentist is unavailable to seek advice from......

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good If it gets unbearable, there's always the emergency dentist on at your local A&E remember.

The trouble is, if you've had the teeth OUT, then that should have been the end of all the serious pain, and you're just left with the bruising from what they've done, but I've never found that half as bad as the abcess ache Except for once, when the numbness wore off, I was in MORE agony than with the blooming tooth in, so I had to ring my dentist at 9pm, went down there, and he said I had an abcess which had probably spread about after the extraction, so he did no more than empty 3 x 500 mgs of amoxycillin into a glass of water and told me to drink it down and on top of that, I had to go into the chemist first thing next day to get another dose of the same! I was so worried I rang my doctor about this, but she said 3,000 mgs of it in 24 hours was ok but was the max! That's probably the reason I ended up with anaphalactic shock with my next prescription of the stuff and was rushed to hospital and almost at death's door!

Take as many painkillers as you can, and remember, you can always take TWO paracetamol with TWO Ibuprofen tablets TOGETHER, as they do this in hospital for severe pain, it's quite ok, coz Dave did this for a week every 4 hours and he's still here!

I'm so sorry VB, I know just what you're going through, coz I've been there and worn that t-shirt so many, many times with my mouth problems! The only problem I have now is keeping it shut at the right time, I don't have tooth pain coz most of them are now gone!

Thankfully it's settled a bit, it was rough this morning, was ready for the hills!

Helena - that is what concerned me this morning as I kept getting a very bad taste in my mouth yesterday, thru the night and this morning as if the infection was still oozing - every couple of hours I am doing saline rinses as opposed to just after I eat so hopefully that will help

Flipping teeth - even when they are gone you still get bother

That was some come thru you had with yours & Dave's problems. The doc gave me Paracodol 30 for the neuralgia which is quite potent. I only take them if I really need them, which to date has just been the once Following the extractions. I am praying getting shot of the wisdom tooth will stop the neuralgia

Reuben - thank you for your sympathy
