Apple Extended Keyboard

I might be in the market for a replacement keyboard for this ageing machine - the keys are getting a bit worn and are almost illegible in some lights.

What I'm looking for is an Apple Extended Keyboard, preferably model KFRFE. It MUST be compatible with Mac OS 9. Keyboards developed for Mac OSX will not do.

If anyone should come across such a thing, please PM or E me. As it is rather old, any examples are likely to be second-hand.

No hurry, as this one is still working - it's just a little bit hard to read, and I've never been qualified as a touch-typist!

Just a thought Snorri, but couldn't you download a driver to enable any keyboard to interface with your Mac.

I know one exists for microsoft keyboards, so i wopuld think they exist for most keyboards.

Tell me to shut up if I'm talking rubbish, I know nothing about Macs's except they come in wierd colours

Yes some of the 'new' PC keyboards come with Mac Drivers however Im not sure if they cover ur OS. Have u got USB? One of our Apple Laptops is running as usb Keyboard.. although you have to change some 'files' to make it to work...

I have two USB ports, one with a 4-port hub stuck in it, but I think they are early USB1. At the moment, they run scanner, printer, webcam*.

It might be worth a try if I can get sale or return!

*before anyone asks, I haven't a clue how it works

the keyboard we used was a £4.99 jobber!
(basically 'any' pc usb keyboard would do).

However you have to make some changes to some system files, so there is a risk involved...
