To do, or not to do, that is the Castration, 16 Feb 2013, Hants

A one-day Seminar for all Dog Owners, Vets, Trainers & Behaviourists.

With Holistic Vet Nick Thompson BSc (Hons) Path Sci., BVM&S, VetMFHom, MRCVS
Saturday 16 February 2013

Nick will discuss new research that he feels challenges the prevailing view of gonadectomy (neutering) being a benign procedure. He will present studies which demonstrate adverse behavioural impact of neutering dogs.

He will also look at physical effects such as differences in bone growth, predisposing neutered dogs to increased incidences of cruciate rupture; early onset of osteoarthritis and increased risk of certain cancers (e.g. haemangiosarcoma and prostate) in neutered dogs.

Nick established his own practice Holisticvet Ltd., www.holisticvet.co.uk/ in ’99, in Bath and works throughout the UK, Europe and the Channel Islands and with clients also in Zimbabwe, Malta, Spain, Belgium, the U.S., Australia and Korea. He was a lecturer at Southampton University teaching complementary and alternative medicine in the treatment of behavioural problems at the School of Psychology. He is also veterinary consultant to Paddocks Farm Ltd. who produces Verm-X. Nick also writes for Horse Magazine and Dogs Today and has lectured throughout the UK and for the Faculty of Homeopathy in Portugal.
His specialist interest is in chronic disease, treating with complementary and alternative medicines, including, homeopathy, acupuncture, herbs and nutrition.

OMG thanks for these SB

I wanted to go to this before, but could not. Now, I should be able to go as this is only an hour from me.

I can't believe I am going to book up something for 2013

The other one looks good too. Excited now!

I'm 99% certain that he talked on this at Cirencester, as I was hoping to go to it, but my memory may be playing tricks on me ....
