Is this two bitches? If not, what gender are they and are they neutered?
A good book is `Fight!` by Jean Donaldson. I recommend you read it asap.
And in the meantime keep them separate.
Be very careful with Behaviourists - some are not good and can make it worse. I would always ask for references and also want to know what methods they use, besides their qualifications.

Wouldn't simply muzzling them have at least stopped them biting chunks out of each other or you 'getting your hand damaged on their teeth'?

They two bitches. It started when a cat broke out the back and the male dog chased it.ITs the husky and bernard that is fighting. It was very distressing she spent two days crying.I think the bernard want to play but the husky gets very bitter. The two of them are very gellous. I have been told that there is a breed of a wolf n the husky as we all know and they should only be with thier own breed dont know if its true.

This is a good approach with dog-dog aggression.

I would recommend working with a trainer or behaviourist as well, especially as the behaviour is not new.

No, not forever, just when they are in situations where they might fight. The rest of the time, keep them separate.

If you really want to keep them, you don't really have a choice, sadly

How stressful for you all
Bitches have long memories and it can be difficults

I agree with the others to get a good qualified behaviourist - who will look at them and come up with a plan
Just saying they are the wrong breeds is not helpful or correct imo

Until that I would make sure they cant fight or eyeball each other or do anything agressive
are they happy walking together on the lead? or are they snarking and eyeballing each other?
If they are calm and happy then I would possibly continue with that - but then keep them seperate at other times - so they learn to be calm and happy around each other

Did you have any issues with them before the fight? have they had grumbles or you have felt tension?
