Monty is not a happy boy. (Boxer)

Monty is not a happy boy today and is sulking. Here's why:

He is not keen on his new harness! Lucky that Mummy bought him a new toy to soften the blow:

He's not keen of the harness but hopefully it will stop him pulling a bit. I left it on in the house for about half an hour and he soon forgot about it.

Can anyone tell me whether the fit looks correct on it? It looks a bit funny to me and there's no clear front or back so tried it both ways and that's how it looks both ways.

Is it right??

Great photos and the soft toy certainly took his mind off it

as for the fit, I must admit it doesn't look quite right to me either - it looks a bit too much 'off the shoulder' (like bra straps that have slipped a wee bit).

But I don't know how that particular design is supposed to fit - was there an example picture with the harness or with any advertising pages on the web?

Yep, looks a bit funny to me too.. does not look a good fit, as posted above, slipping off his shoulders, and my guess is will rub him.

Is it the right size for him.

P.S bless, he does not look impressed at all

Also have to say, not a great fan of harnesses for Boxers, they jus tseem to give them something else to help them pull.

If it was me, I would use a halti,(dogmatic) and a normal collar, with a double ended lead, attached to both..

Yeh i put it on exactly as per the picture on the packet but it doesn't look quite right. It was only a cheap one from PAH as i don't want to spend lots of money on one until i know whether it will help with his pulling.

I got him a large one as thats what their "specialist" in the shop said would be best. I've since loosened it off a bit but it still looks funny. Just checked their website and apparently a Boxer is in the XL category so now i'm confused, he is still only 7 months though so though XL would be too big.

The picture on the packet looks the same as it looks on Monty but that doesn't look comfy to me!

Not inspired by the one review on PAH website that said it broke on first use and her dog ran into the road and got hit.

I feel like i've been had now!!

Sorry Bruce didn't want to really model for you....but here's his.

His is higher on the shoulders, maybe you need to alter the straps, but with Bruces I had to alter it myself as the size below was too small, so this one was a little large so i had to stich it either side....obviously if he fills out I can unpick it.

Poor Monty.......he doesn;t look too impressed does he......still remarkably handsome though

No we didn't in the end but might take another look at them. Managed to get the harness sorted eventually and have been for a walk with it and he was so much better on the lead with it. I won't count my chicken's yet though!

If the good behaviour continues then i'll invest some money in a decent one. I think because Boxers are deep chested dogs harnesses just don't seem to fit properly.

Ah right i could have sworn that it was you who posted a link about it ages ago. Im glad that it seems to be making a difference. There is nothing worse than a dog that pulls on the lead.

It probably was me!! I forget what i did yesterday let alone what i posted about, what's this one about again?!?!

I'll be honest and say i was put off by the Gentle leader as it's quite muzzley looking and we already get people looking at Monty like he's going to eat them. Daft as he's more likely to lick them to death. I know i shouldn't let people's opinions bother me.
