Last night whilst drifting off to sleep
A great idea I had
And even though 'twas my idea
It really wasn't bad
Para after para
Line after line
Each one came out
Perfectly fine
So just before
Sleep gathered me
How happy was I then
Another rhyme was
Done and dusted
Finished, done again
So sure was I
That in the morn
The rhyme would
Still be there
But I was wrong
'cos it had gone
No verse for me
To share
So all that's left
For me to say
Is just
