When should Chocolate Labradors start moulting?

Hello there,
I am new here so please be nice!
I have a Chocolate Labrador, approx. 13 months, who is mouting a great deal.
Here is a picture of him,

He has moulted previously, but about 2 months ago, he started really moulting. Most things have a layer of hair now and I am beginning to wonder when he will slow down again. Is it normal for him to be moulting at this time of the year? When should he moult?
Many thanks for any replies,
Merlin's Dad

lol-some dogs never stop moulting Merlins dad so you may have to get used to it! Try feeding him raw egg once a week (including shell) as i find this helps, but dont stop it entirely!

Dogs that live inside - with central heating tend to moult all the time.

This time of year seems to be the heaviest moulting time - getting rid of the thicker 'winter' coats, ready for summer.
My dog is moulting loads at the moment, and seems to leave a 'carpet' of hair everywhere she goes!

This time of year is the worst as H said shedding for the warmer weather.
I also find it depends on the weather, Woody was very late shedding last year, but he's just started this years now (probably due to the warm weather we had last week)!
I love to sit and pull out all his fluffy undercoat, which he hates!

Lovely Lab by the way! :smt049

Just thank your lucky stars he isn't a yellow. My yellow lab Ben, seems to moult continuously, but as pointed out by Hevvur, indoor dogs living in centrally heated houses do seem to moult more. My question is this - If ben moults as much as he does, Why isn't he bald???????????
When I move my cooker, freezer, drier and washer I could almost swear there is another dog lives underneath from the amopunt of hair that gets underneath!!!

There's nothing much you can do about it other than put up with it - and make sure you have a good vacuum cleaner!

Labs (of all colours) moults BIG TIME about 2 times a year. But there's always hairs here or there all year round.

Luna sheds right now aswell.

Lovely lab you have there

Hi
If Merlin's bed is near a radiator turn it off / down or move the bed as central heating encourages moulting. With the changing weather were all in the same boat so to speak. I hope it improves soon
