Too young at 5 months?

I was given a flyer at dog training for an open dog show.
But the dog has to be at least 6 months old (even in the puppy class)
Is this common to other shows? Barney will be one month to young on the date of the show

I remember back when my dog had to be 6-9 months old to start attending training classes! I am sure that is not the case now.

I am guessing the age limit might be to restrict the number of dogs who are put in for it?

Shame though - but do you have to give PROOF of age?

If the show is being run under KC rules then you may not show a dog under 6 months of age. Sometimes you will find shows put on a Puppy Walk for puppies under 6 months.
Also I have a feeling you usually have to show your dog's registration details.
