1st Order has arrived!

My 1st order from Raw to Go arrived early this morning........
Jack was VERY interested

It all looks good but as I suspected I couldn't fit it all in the dogs freezer, so the bones are in the humans freezer.

I have a few questions if someone could help out please?

1) The chicken carcass are all in a solid lump......if I defrost the whole lot could I then re-freeze some?

2) The beef chunks look good but there's ''something'' on one of the chunks .......anyone know what it is?

I'm going to go back to the beginning too and weigh the food for the pooches. I've always fed 'by eye' but one of the terriers has lost weight (not a bad thing 'cos he was looking a bit chunky!) and my little Schip has gained weight, so she could loose a bit.
Fingers crossed now that they like the new meat.

I have partially defrosted chicken carcasses, enough to separate and bag separately then refreeze, never had a problem.

I have no idea what the stuff is on the beef, however my Prize Choice beef chunks have the same thing. Cain's eaten it for months without any problems

I partially defrost the chicken carcasses, and them separate them.

I also have had beef chunks, both from Prize Choice and DAF, and they have those bits on them too... No idea what they actually are though Would be interesting in knowing though!

I've partially defrosted boxes of carcasses and refrozen. Ditto with meat, defrosted it enough to put into a Kong and refrozen.
There was a thread a while back about something "growing" on DAF beef chunks, apparently it's part of the inner cheek

I'd say it's tongue. I have up close personal experience of Ox's tongues-YUK. We have to use them to practise suturing- absolutely nothing like vaginal wall or perineums.

L OL Tooooo much information...

Would'nt worry what it looks like if the dogs love it go with it. Was thinking of popping up to Raw To Go, Its not a million miles away from me and I can take an elderly friend who would appreciate a coffee and cake whilst I have a mooch. Would rather pick up an order from them than pay delivery as they are quite a bit more expensive than Prize Choice and I have a real problem with Landywoods whose prices are more keen.
