I used to put the highest factor on my CKCS parting (but the sun here in Cyprus is merciless).

I was SO annoyed when I took her in one time for a 'trim' when living in Torquay and they cut her back fur so short you could see the pink skin where she was white and I had to smother her in thick cream protection until it grew back some. Becoz - in those days - you even used to get hot sunny summers in the UK!

I use one for babies and children. As high a factor as possible. I use it on the white cats at work. Keep topping it up on places they can lick or clean easily.

This is an interesting thread - I was warned that my very pale dog should be kept out of the sun. Suncream on the pink bits is an excellent idea - I have had the same problem with the groomer taking fur off when she wasn't asked to.. Hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but can you put suncream on a dogs nose?

Mouse uses SPF50 baby sunscreen on her entire head, ears and neck... she wears a t-shirt as well.
