Asked for advice on how to gain recognition..Not opinions on the KC themselves...Dont let this turn into 'another one of them threads'!

Can't help re the strife between breed groups within your (super secret!) breed, but the KC guidance cited by Dawn is useful, and there's a person at the KC who covers new breed recognition as part of her job, so might be able to elaborate.

Yeah any other advice with regards to the orginal question? Nothing was mentioned about opinions on the breed being recognised by the KC - Just how to go about it!

I thought you didn't want to turn this into 'that kind of thread'?

It takes two to tango.

Apologies Roo Roo I thought you meant advice generally and my first thought was 'don't'! Keep your breed---whatever it is----and enjoy it for what it is now that you like about it.

It does indeed take two...But someones gotta start the ball rolling...Same old...not that having the breed established changes anything..Its still the same people involved in the breed clubs, health testing...ect..ect..

Anyways off walkies now.

If Im not mistaken, the dog she has is one dog, not owned for very long and was a rehome. Its a Plummer Terrier. He was thought to have Legges Perthes disease but fortunately it wasnt. Roo was very disheartened by the apparent lack of support by other Plummer breeders, which is why I am very surprised at wanting to gain KC recognition appears to mean such a lot to her.
