I have to ask tho - with the powderpuff and several of the others - are the americans straightining the hair?
I wouldnt have thought so, although I can not say. Doesnt look like it to me, thats just one well presented, well groomed puff, with an outstanding correct coat Using such things will just ruin the coat leaving dried hair with split ends.

Really interesting thread. Are there any dogs that have been BOB at Crufts and at Westminster?

I doubt it, but who knows, the PP coat should be a silky veil, and as such will not need any straightening, just like the Afghan,

So my guess would be , its simply got a fabulous correct coat.

Yes, Hairspray, Chalk and other such things are allowed in the show ring over here. But I do believe that hairspray would be detrimental to the long, silky coated breeds, as the fur needs to flow and move, and would be stiff and unnatural if hairsprayed.

It's easy to straighten hair. you just blowdry and comb at the same time. I watched an Afghan being prepared for the ring, and that's all they did. It was axtremely time consuming!
