You must be going out your mind with worry. Poor baby, no wonder she was uncomfortable.
Hopefully they get her stabilised soon and back home with you.

Oh Jackie, Just caught up with this, so sorry about poor Cassie, as if she hasn't been through enough. I hope they can sort out her meds so that she doesn't start with the fits again.
Poor Cassie....hug ((((()))) gentle one

She's going to be in the vets until at least Wednesday so they can stabilise the pancreas and then we will probably be back to square 1 as far as the epilepsy meds are concerned.
Poor little soul! John's going up to the vets to see her at 4 and take her a couple of toys and her blanket. I can't get out of work so will have to leave it to John.
Just makes me wonder how the emergency vet missed this???? Thankfully she's with our vet now and Emma's known her since she was a pup.
Please keep all your fingers and paws crossed for her.
oh, Hun, sorry to hear this.

I must admit I was a little surprised when the emergency vet said it was just a normal tummy bug - from what you described, it sounded more than that to me, but perhaps the tests didn't show anything first time round?

But at least you know she's in safe hands at your own vets now.

Gentle hugs for Cassie and for you.

Thanks, appreciate it. John's going to see her at 4 so will let me know how she is.

OMG how could I have missed all this going on with my darling little girl I've just read the whole thread Jackie, you must be sooooo upset yet again, poor little mite. You'll be beside yourselves without her until Wednesday won't you, but it has to be, they'll be giving her 24/7 monitoring. Oh I'm so, so sorry Jackie to be reading yet another poorly Cassie thread I really am.xxxxxxx I will watch this space and have everything crossed that they sort out her pancreas and keep everything else at bay whilst they're doing that. I cannot believe this after what she's already been through of late. Try not to worry Jackie, Zena sends some special gentle kisses to help you get through the first half of this week and hoping you get her back on Wednesday maybe all fit and well again.xxxxxxxxxxx

Oh gosh hugs all round. Poor you and poor Cassie. I do hope they get ehr sorted soon.

I think pancreatitis can present as a bug to be honest...it's just if they don't see an improvement they start thinking pancreatitis...they suggested Biff may have it at Christmas, but I'm sure they said they would need to do a very specialised blood test to be certain? It had to be sent to off somewhere else ? Could be wrong...but I'm sure thats what they said? May be worth asking anyway, as our vet said it was the only way to be sure. Maybe my memory is hazy...hard day at work!
Hugs to all xxxxxxxx

Thanks for everything everyone. John went to see her at 4 and said she's in an awful state but that could be the diazepam. She is, however, quite seriously ill and needs all your Dogsey vibes desperately.

This is the email John sent to my brother earlier to update him. I don't think I can type it again.

Just got back from the vets. Cassie is quite seriously ill - the blood tests will reveal whether she has pancreatitis or not, but the vet is pretty certain just on the symptoms alone. It's a flare up that she's having right now, and all the vet can do is wait & see if she can heal herself by keeping her pancreas rested (no food for a couple of days). If it's a relatively minor case of the disease, then she should be OK in a day or two. If it's more serious, then she won't get better & we will probably lose her. There's no blood test to determine the severity of the condition, just whether it's there or not. So basically it's a case of "wait & see" over the next day or two.

It seems a very real risk we could lose her and I don't know what either of will do if that happens. We're both in a real state at the moment. xxxxxJ
