Would you clone your dog?

A couple in Florida have paid $150,000 for a commercially cloned dog. Lancelot Encore is reportedly an exact genetic copy of the family pet which died last year.

So, would you?

Hi,

Absolutely not. I too will take rescues now an din the future.

Also, even though I've always loved my dogs to bits and they're each unique and have their own characters, any future dogs I have will also have their own characters and be unique.

Just because a dog looks the same doens't make it the same dog. depending upon environment, it may behave or think very dfferently to the original.

I think the couple paying $150K wasted a hell of alot of money. For that amount of money (had they paid me) I'd have found a dog the same as the one they lost a year ago from a local rescue and given it to them.

If we've started cloning dogs, how long before we move to humans? God forbid anyone clones me!
My dogs would NOT be impressed - particularly zane. I make him work too hard at training.

As much as I love my dogs I'd love for them to live forever but it springs to mind the film 'Pet Semetary'.
I went to the cinema and nearly died of fright. So as fear that the whole personality and dog came back a definate 'NO'.
At the end of the day its messing with nature and thats bad.
