It could be worth having a word with some landlords over properties you like.

If you can show them the poodles (and Percy) and show that they are well behaved/don't shed etc, and maybe offer a slightly larger deposit, or to have the house professionally cleaned when you leave, you may never know?

My friend moved to a non-pet rental house with 3 dogs (2 Boxers and a Labrador). They had to sign some extra conditions (about cleaning and repairing any damage) but the landlord was OK about it. They got a professional cleaner (inc carpets) in when they left and the landlord was perfectly happy with the state of the house.

Worth a try?

Have you tried your local council or housing authority? Does declaring yourself homeless push you further up the list or would they assist you in finding a private house?

They told me to find private rental when I asked the first time so I don't hold up much hope, plus they tend to have a 2 dog limit.
