After reading the replies from the NI owners, I have to ask ... how much is your average NI?

I would say no. Hopefully people choose a breed according to their lifestyle, activity level, space, facilities, etc. I am not well off at all, if I have a bad month the dogs get their usual food and I economise (pasta again!) I can't expect them to do without.

Walks and fresh air are free, so we have plenty of those

LOL i must be the poorest person going - i had to save over a year for my leo and my gsds were not cheap either - however they want for nothing and will always have what they need. To echo a previous point: fresh air, walks and loadsa cuddles - none of these cost

No.... I doubt that people would even associate me with loving the setter type if they met me without them, let alone reflecting my income

No as I own a variety ranging from £0 - £750 when I bought them and also a variety of lifestyles if you look at my dogs as they are all so different so I really don't know what they would tell you about me, that i'm a wee bitty mental perhaps?

On another note I guess it depends where you get them from as for instance a rottie could cost you anything from £600 - £1,000 or more for a well bred pup and much much less for a shoddily bred one...
