Rose

well i just wanted to brag a little

rose dont really like strangers much and will usually back away if is a woman or back away and bark if its a man, even though she was socialised as a pup...

Well today she made me very proud, just back from a walk.
this woman stopped to pet her(she has a bc n just 'had' to pet rose) and rose ran straight up to her and sat to be petted

Then we headed down to the toll(where our scotmid and butchers and what not are) typical sat morning really busy, mum had to go into 3 shops so i sat outside them with rose, told her to sit and wait(she lay down though)... But she didnt bark at anyone, even though there was a bunch of guys running about, and lil kids and this gsd barking, she even tried to say hello to some ppl and some kids, whole back end was wagging
and when we had to cross the road and stand closer to the gsd she just lay down and looked at it like it was stupid for barking
mum was in the shops for about 15-20mins in total and rose behaved for all of that time :smt041:smt041
(sorry she just made me sooo happy as shes usually a lil :smt096)

Then on the way back she was really good with this lab we met and didnt try to herd it, and we met her friend masie and she stayed really calm and didnt try to herd masie either(which is a big change usually their both running around tangling me and masie's owner up)

okay brag over lol...

if this is in the wrong place(didnt really know where to post it) then just move it to the right place

Very well done to Rose, can well imagine why you had to brag. That is really good news and you have every right to be proud of her. Thanks for sharing it is nice to hear of her success. Keep up the good work Rose and keep on making your mum and grandma proud of you.

Thats what happens some times, things just suddenly `click` like that and its fantastic when it happens.
Its something which just can`t happen without care, consistency, patience, and understanding - you guys got her to this point with the work I know you have been putting in, way to go you two and Shona

Hi Megan it sounds as if you are doing a great job with socialising Rose, all this laying down is supposed to be good too, it is thought to indicate a 'calm dog' and sends out signals that put other dogs at ease
