That makes no sense to me nor does it offer any assistance to the OP

I detest the idea of caging. Is that clear enough for you?

So what! The OP has already made the decision to crate her pup, this is not the debates section, she was simply asking for advice.

And I offered mine. Don't put it in a cage. Obviously you have a problem with that.

Yeah, I doubt you have any understanding of the proper use of a crate and how much most dogs enjoy using one. The question however was where to crate puppy? It wasn't whether to crate puppy? I have no problem with anything.

I don't know any dogs who use one far less enjoy it.

homalley78 I am sorry this has turned into a slanging match. I hope your pup is settled now and that you are having undisturbed nights with him. As I suggested any room will be ok and if you leave a radio on for him to listen to quietly or even a ticking clock near to his crate (den)that will help. Like babies he will settle to sleep with this quiet noise. Good Luck with him. imo puppies like a den and even older dogs do. It is a place of their own to go to when they feel like it. Mine always did and to this day Tyto even at the age of 11 years still does. He isn't shut in now but he still likes to go in there at night or even during the day when I go out. But he still isn't shut in as he is older now. As puppies they need the safety of somewhere to go when you are out. Better to come back to a house that hasn't been destroyed causing you to be upset before you greet puppy nicely.

That was obvious so why post on a subject you have no experience of.
Lots of dogs love their crates and use them from choice even when other options are available to them.

You missed the point but I'm done with this since you can't be polite.
