Grandad's diaries

I came across my Grandad's diaries the other day, my sister had them but never having met him she asked me if I wanted them. They make fascinating reading as they are from 1934 and 1935.

April 25 1934 - Terry's(my dad) birthday today age 2, No work, unable to get Terry anything for his birthday. Jim Spencer killed today on the Saturnus. Bucky Club raided.

July 19, 1934 - No work today. Whitewashed the front bedroom. Shifted bed into back bedromm.

July20, 1934 - No work today, thought I had 2 days dole but only had 1 (5/-)

July 22, Sunday - Stayed at home today, not got clothes back
.

I have found them really interesting, he obviously didn't have a regular job, he was a docker. Clothes went to the pawn shop during the week and came back for the Sunday!
