(speying) leaving 1 ovary

saw this on another board and this has my interests

it is said that some vets if asked will leave 1 ovary in after speying ....now this has very much got my attention after as you know we had to have sophie speyed and she has since gained so much weight although she has half the normal food and has developed a terrible wolly coat !

any one got any info about this

lol!!when i was speyed last year they left me one ovary in!!was supposed to stop the onset of early menopause, but im moody as hell at the moment!!
