Anyone know what the best broadband service around is. Looking for a price of around £20 a month.

I think these have a package that may fit the bill:

Tiscali.co.uk have £15 and £19 packages

wannadoo.co.uk £19

virgin.net £25

s all I can think of right now...

HI Carol I have Wannaddo and I am very pleased with the service But..as an existing freeserve customer I upgraded and got a special deal of £19:19 pm with no restriction of use. I understand the terms for new users are not the same and have some form of time limit imposed.

Hi Mini, I checked Wannado and their cheapest package only gives 8hours surfing a day. Not enough in this house.

The problem is I dont have a BT phone line.

I think I might have to stick with NTL and try to agree on something.

They want me to set up a different account in another name at my address, so I can use the paypoint to pay it. I pay my phone and TV that way but if I add my broadband on to it the whole account has to be paid DD.

Work that one out?

Strange how different people react differently to AOL! Up here, it's the one which works best on Orkney's sad old phone lines! I have pals who use other ISPs, but they are always complaining of getting booted, slow dial-up rates, etc.

I can manage 44 kps on a 56k modem; my mate on supanet gets about 19.5, one on Wannadoo gets about 21. Another mate on AOL hits 48kps on a regular basis.

You'll gather from this that, up here, we have no BB outside Kirkwall (about 15 miles away) and my area is unlikely to get it until late 2005. If I want it then, I'll have to get a new computer, because this old Mac hasn't enough processor power to handle it

If I can go that way, I'll probably stick with AOL - I haven't any real grounds for complaining about them - except for the fact that they haven't upgraded the Mac version for any Mac running an older OS than OSX
