I agree with you Leanne. From the posts here though, it seems like they are generally used as a last resort.

Yeah I asked out of interest to why ppl use them, last resort after trying training, getting told like my friend to use it straight away. I'm not against the collars (from my OP may not come across like this) and I'm lucky I havent had to use one. But I think it's wrong to tell someone to use one without 1. getting your dog's eye checked to see if there is a problem and 2. trying other options.

It is a bit weird for a trainer to say to use one straight off.

Tbh I have heard of the trainer and they dont have a great rep, I have asked Marion (my mate) to look for someone else, the trainer does use positive methods etc but some of the things they have come out with is a bit hmmmmmm

I hope she finds a different trainer x
