Sneaking off and being naughty!

One of my Bichons, Trevor, sometimes sneaks off in the house and pees. I've only had him for a year but he is 5 years old. He has always done this and I've come to think it is a behavioral problem. Anybody familiar with this kind of problem...have any advice???

Sounds like a hangover from his former life to me. I'd say the key is to make it worth his while peeing in front of you (in the appropriate place of course ) - ie. praise and reward when he does. Keep a diary of when this occurs - you might be able to spot a pattern. Or, if he pees in a particular room, block access to that room (we had to do this when house training our current pup - simplistic yes, effective too!)

Maybe it's a Bichon thing, one of mine goes and does this on his bed sometimes (usually after I've just washed it). How many of the little darlings have you got? I've got 2, both dogs, 8months and 5 months.
