I've been away for the weekend, and look what I missed, Jaffa and JJs babies are looking so gorgeous and so grown up compaired to Sausage and Chips babies, which are so cute.

You are really going to be busy Jackie, hopefully Pico's egg will hatch this time, and you'll be even busier

Costa del Guildford I just went to my Mothers for her birthday weekend, we took Bijou with us, and he was brilliant, he wasn't too keen on his smaller cage, but nearly jumped for joy when he got home to his nice big spacious palace

Wow, just look at the difference in sizes, Jaffa and JJs big baby looks huge, they really are doing a fanstastic job as parents, you must be thrilled to bits

While at my mums we went into a garden centre that I belive sells Parrots, well they at least have them loose on a big climbing frame type thing specially made for them, they had a Blue and Gold Macaw and about half a dozen other smaller parrots, but what horrified me was the state they were in, I expect they were moulting, but they looked terrible, they had just didn't look healthy at all, they had poo stuck to their rear end, and they seemed very itchy, I put this down the them molting as Bijou seems a lot more itchy at the moments, and he's molting like mad, it just made me very sad for these poor birds, and wished I could have taken them all home and sorted them out.

yes there is a huge difference in size isnt there
Jaffa and JJ are really doing an excellent job

awww poor poor birds i have pm,ed you
i do not think birds of that size should be sold in pet shops or garden centers, they are specialist birds and should only be brought or sold by breeders

i like to know where ALL my babies are going and like to be informed on there lifes
this would nto be done if i sold to a pet shop or garden centre

Good for you Jackie, it's a pity more people arnt like you

We went to the garden centre looking for a Budgie for my mum, and even if they had the exact colour she wanted, there was no way I would have bought from there.

I keep trying to tell myself that they were just having a bad molt, I know some birds can suffer worse than others and need extra supplements to help them through, you would have thought that being on diplay like that, they would have taken extra care of them. On a better note, they had some Finches tucked away round the corner and they seemed fine

Aww, so sweet, well it's Friday so I expect you have the babies indoors now, hope JJ & Jaffa didn't get to stressed at you taking their babies, I know that Sausage and Chips don't mind, but this is a first for the other 2 Do you keep them under lights to help keep them warm? what do you feed them and how? sorry being a nosey mare, just curious

The babies are not out yet as i had a hospital appointment in Liverpool and did not get back till late

so we are gonna take them out tomorrow morning now, i really do not know how Jaffa and JJ will react as like you say this is their first babies

we keep them in a heated brooder, which we set the temp on and we feed them macaw handrearing formula with a spoon
i will take some pics to show you when i do it

and of course i do not mind the questions, it is good to share
